All facilities, rooms and spaces at the Byre Theatre are accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. Wheelchairs can access the building at both public entrances to the theatre, either at the main Box Office entrance, off South Street, or the level 1 Bar and Restaurant entrance off Abbey Street. Both entrances/exits operate automatic double sliding doors. All levels of the theatre can be accessed by lift.
The Theatre does not have dedicated parking for disabled patrons . We have several locations around the Theatre where you can park. we have 4 disabled parking spaces outside our entrances ( 2 x South Street, 2 x Abbey Street ) . We also have a large drop off areas on Abbey street that allows direct access to the Theatre. Please contact Box-Office if you require assistance alighting from your vehicle and we will be more than delighted to assist.
There are five spaces for wheelchair users in the main auditorium at the rear of the stalls, in Row K. Each of the five wheelchair spaces enjoys unrestricted viewing. For maximum comfort during your visit to the Byre, please notify the Box Office when booking your seats if you or a member of your party is a wheelchair user. If you require a wheelchair space, please let us know if you require any additional assistance so that our Front of House team is aware before you arrive at the theatre for a performance.
Please note that both our venues offer a hearing loop system for every performance as required. Please ask at box-office upon arrival if you require a hearing loop pack. Our systems are compatible with the ‘T’ setting hearing aid.
