07th – 11th July

By Herman Melville

Adapted by J.C Marshall

“To sail with such a heathen crew that have small touch of human mothers in them! Whelped somewhere by the sharkish sea.”

=Big book. Big themes. Big whale. Join us for a rollicking shanty-laden adaptation that preserves the vastness of Melville’s language and vision. But with less harpoon tutorials.

The world-famous A Play, A Pie and A Pint began in Glasgow’s Òran Mór in 2004 and has played as far afield as New York, South Korea and Bermuda. Now for the first time it’s coming exclusively to the Byre in St Andrews. This exciting season of Classic Cuts features four great plays cut down to

45 minutes for lunchtime theatre-goers. From a sea-shanty version of Moby Dick to a chamber tragedy by Sophocles, this new series of dramas promises something for every appetite. Please join us and live your lunchtime live!
