Investigating the impossible: 30 years at the Koestler Parapsychology Unit

Join Professor Caroline Watt for a whistle-stop tour of the highs and lows of three decades of research into paranormal claims. From the Indian Rope Trick, to precognitive dreams, to controlled laboratory research examining whether people have telepathic ability, discover the challenges and unexpected scientific rewards of investigating the impossible.


Caroline Watt holds the Koestler Chair of Parapsychology, and is a founder member (in 1986) of the Koestler Parapsychology Unit at the University of Edinburgh. Professor Watt is a former President of the Parapsychological Association, has published numerous journal articles about her research, and her latest book is Parapsychology: A Beginner’s Guide.
