StAnza 26: You Are Not Alone: Festival Opening Night

19:00 – 21:00 | Byre: Auditorium | £20/£15/£10/£5

We open the festival with our Colour Cabaret, featuring a brilliant cavalcade of poets including Amélie Prévost, Andrés N. Ordorica, Isabelle Baafi, Jim Carruth, Kate Ireland, Keith Jarrett, Marjorie Lotfi, Nick Makoha, and Rachel McCrum. Lighting up the stage with a rainbow of poetry, this kinetic format offers an introduction to some of the voices you'll encounter across the festival.

The evening continues with an entwined reading from Anthony Vahni Capildeo and Niall Campbell. Both award-winning poets, Capildeo and Campbell have devised a shared set in which poems are traded and become a conversation. Shaped by lives lived in proximity to water, from island coastlines to fishing villages, their work meets here in a performance that moves between place and memory, reality and dream.

Content note: performances may contain references to death and violence.
